original-dave are a 4 piece rock-centered band from Derby, rapidly gaining a reputation around the Midlands for their unique musical style and showmanship. They formed 4 years ago with a mission to perform their own material to their awaiting fans.

original-dave are influenced by many different styles and genres, never being frightened to try new ideas and directions, from Rock to Reggae, Acoustic Ballad to Prog-Rock Epic, nothing is out of bounds to create a lasting musical impression on the listener.

They draw upon epic influences and vast sound-scapes from legendary bands such as Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin blended with a contemporary and unique sound.

They initially started performing in 2006 and have gone on to perform at many different venues up and down the UK (supporting top acts such as Edison, The James Warner Prophecies and Paddy Considine's Riding the Low) and have recorded 3 E.P.'s, the most latest 'Theory of Devolution' being a professional studio recording which was released at the end of March 2009.

They have been interviewed by The Derby Telegraph, the BBC and appeared in local rock fanzine 'Moonshine'.

The Foundations of Original-Dave

Original-Dave was originally formed in November 2004, with two brothers jamming together in a tiny spare bedroom, with Nick Harker on drums, and Alex on guitar, the room being so tiny the drum kit filled the room and Alex had to play out on the landing corridor.

A growing urge to grow to bigger and better things lead them to trying out several different guitarists and bassists over the years, with the band finally settling down to the set-up that can be seen today, namely Phil Rose on rhythm guitar/vocals and Mark Knowles on bass guitar. A first gig was played in March 2007, and the band was truly born.

The band has continued from this moment, going from strength to strength, rehearsing hard, but playing harder.
